What is carbon steel
UPDATED : 2023-04-14
Carbon steel, also known as carbon steel, is an iron-carbon alloy with an internal carbon content close to 2%. In carbon steel materials, in addition to carbon, there are other components, such as manganese, sulfur or silicon. Generally speaking, the higher the amount of carbon contained in carbon steel, the harder it will be and the higher its strength will be. Just be aware that the higher the carbon content, the lower the plasticity.

Carbon steel, also known as carbon steel, is an iron-carbon alloy with an internal carbon content close to 2%. Generally speaking, the higher the amount of carbon contained in carbon steel, the harder it will be and the higher its strength will be. Just be aware that the higher the carbon content, the lower the plasticity.
2. What are the elements that affect carbon steel
1). As mentioned earlier, carbon steel has different element compositions, such as silicon, which generally occupies a proportion of 0.11%~0.38%. There is also a sulfur element. When the temperature reaches about 1000 degrees, it will cause the performance of the steel to become weaker and prone to cracking. So if there are more sulfur elements, it will cause bad effects.
2). There is also phosphorus element in it. If the content is relatively large, it can increase its strength and make it harder to touch. But its toughness will also be reduced, so it's not that the more you add, the better.
3). In addition to this, there is also manganese. The normal content should be controlled between 0.26% and 0.7%. This element is beneficial to carbon steel.
